NexaEvery IROP handled before it becomes a headline.

The operating system for airline disruption management. Your team shouldn't be solving a disruption — Nexa automates the full response. Passengers assigned, rooms booked, transport dispatched, spend governed. Operators intervene only when it matters.

00Architecture mandate

I architect Nexa to replace the IROP black box.

I lead Nexa’s technology strategy alongside aviation and technology operators. After years architecting production systems for banks, airlines and enterprise teams, it was clear that airline disruption management was still being run on phone calls, spreadsheets and disjointed third-party tooling. The cost — financial, operational and reputational — was enormous.

We set out to build the control layer we wished existed: one workspace where operations, airport teams, procurement, finance and customer care work off the same record, with every decision attributable and every dollar governed.

Nexa is my current product bet on where enterprise operations software is going: AI that shows its work, policy executed automatically, and humans always one click away from overriding the machine.

01The disruption reality

Disruption is growing. Expectations are rising. Regulators are tightening.

Most airlines still manage IROPs with phone calls, spreadsheets and third-party companies. Nexa replaces that with one workspace and a complete decision trail.

Passengers disrupted globally in 2024

The scale of disruption keeps growing — and so does the cost of handling it manually.

$383+
Average cost per passenger in unmanaged IROPs

Hotel, transport, compensation and goodwill add up fast when nobody is governing spend.

90 min
Average time to first hotel assignment, manually

That's 90 minutes of passengers waiting at the gate while teams work the phones.

02The Nexa platform

Five products. One disruption control layer.

Ops, Rooms, Guest, Rides and Pay work together. Nothing falls through the cracks. Nothing happens without a trace.

Operations Control

The command layer. Segments passengers, launches hotel and transport flows simultaneously, and surfaces exceptions with full context in real time.

Hotel Sourcing

Searches GDS, bedbanks, airline contracts and direct inventory at once. AI-powered ranking enforces policy automatically and optimizes total cost — room plus transport.

Passenger Experience

Notifications via email, SMS and WhatsApp with a no-download self-service app. Passengers accept rooms, book transport and contact support — without phone calls.

Ground Transport

Airport-to-hotel and return runs coordinated alongside hotel selection. Transport cost factors into every recommendation, not after the fact.

Spend & Vouchers

Global virtual cards ready for Apple Pay and Google Pay. Meal, hotel and goodwill compensation governed by rules, with full auditability from approval to redemption.

Intelligence

AI that shows its work. Every recommendation includes reasoning, savings estimates and a confidence score. Accept, adjust or override — always logged.

03Deep dive

One workspace for the teams carrying the disruption.

Designed for the people who need the same decision trail at different moments of the event — operations, airport, procurement, finance, customer care and ground transport acting on the same record.

What changes
  • Hotel SLA: 40+ min → under 4 min

Airline pilot operator reported in the first 30 days.

  • From a black box to attribution

Every decision logged with timestamp and actor — no more reconstructing IROPs from emails two days later.

  • Cost recovery from day one

Pilot operators recovered costs they didn't even know they were losing.

  • Runs alongside what you have

Replaces nothing you depend on — connects via API, file feeds or manual intake.

04Pilot signal
"IROP used to be a black box. We'd close the event and reconstruct it from emails two days later. Now every decision has a timestamp and a name on it. Our hotel booking SLA went from over 40 minutes to under 4. And in the first 30 days we recovered costs we didn't even know we were losing."

05What's next

The control model we're doubling down on. AI assisted. Human accountable.

The next phase of Nexa is deepening the governance layer around every automated action — and opening the platform to builders so airlines can wire their own workflows on top.

AI assistance

Intelligent guidance

Next-best-action surfaced with reasoning visible. Accept, adjust, override — your call, always logged.

Automated when appropriate

Standard cases: zero clicks

Policy-compliant flows run automatically. Exceptions surface for judgment with context pre-loaded.

Human control

Always one click away

Pause, reroute, or override any action. No action ever happens behind your back.

Full accountability

No action without a trace

Every intervention — explicit, attributable, recorded. Compliance built into the operating system, not bolted on.

For builders

Build on Nexa.

REST API, webhooks, file feeds and SDKs. Wire Nexa into your operation in a few lines — then ship policy, automation and audit logs without leaving your stack.

  • Reference + integration guides
  • OpenAPI spec and schemas
  • Sandbox keys for trial pilots
  • PNR sync · ERP compatible · Manual intake

30 minutes. Your operation. No generic demo.

We walk through your disruption profile, passenger tiers and exception flows — not a scripted tour.
